Make sure that you only ever charge with genuine cables. We recommend charging your battery up to 80%.

The charging time depends on the electrical connection: electric cars and plug-in hybrids can indeed be charged at a domestic socket outlet, but charging takes longer owing to the lower charging power. Charging with a wallbox at home with up to 22 kW, depending on the car, is faster, safer, and more convenient.

Alternating current (AC) puts less load on the battery, ensuring that it has a longer service life. However, if time is of the essence when you are travelling, you can also charge with direct current (DC) at a fast-charging station and gain plenty of range for your electric car in a very short time.

There are many ways of charging an electric car or a plug-in hybrid: either conveniently at home or flexibly on the go. It's up to you. At home, you can charge safely and conveniently with the BMW Wallbox. Alternatively, you can use the BMW Flexible Charger to charge at domestic or industrial charging sockets, and at various charging points near your home. On the go, use the fast charging cable (mode 3) for public charging to charge at one of the many charging stations.
